The story behind the quote: This week’s quote comes from the “Christmas” movie, Die Hard. The film was a surprise hit and launched Bruce Willis into stardom. On a side note, though, although the film was set during the Christmas season, Die Hard was actually released in the middle of July. Go figure.

The quote comes from the middle of the film as John McClaine (played by Bruce Willis) manages to escape certain death by finding a ventilation duct to crawl into. As he crawls through it, he flips on his lighter to see how much vent he has to squeeze through to get out. In sarcastic frustration, he delivers the quote.

Geek wisdom:  Not everything will go ahead as planned. There are eventually going to be problems that will pop up that we don’t expect. That doesn’t mean we should quit, though. We all have to bear through them to make it to the goal.
