“I don’t want any more regrets! Whatever it is, count me in.”

From: Resident Evil Requiem

Genre: Video Games

Who said it?: Grace Ashcroft

The story behind the quote: This week’s quote comes from Capcom‘s latest entry in their long running survival horror series, Resident Evil Requiem. Taking place nearly three decades after the events of Resident Evil 2, the game has you controlling two characters. In some segments, you control Grace Ashcroft, an FBI analyst who is kidnapped as the villains of the story believe she holds the key to something they need. In other more action-centric segments, you control fan favorite Leon S. Kennedy, who gets involved in the kidnapping while investigating a string of mysterious deaths where all the people connected to it have one common element: they are all survivors of Raccoon City before it was destroyed.

The quote comes near the end of the game. Grace and Leon reunite in the ruins of Raccoon City. Leon, who had to traverse the city, recalls all of the horrors he encountered back then and how he couldn’t really save anyone. Leon then mentions he intends to go and face off against the villains, despite his deteriorating health. Grace volunteers to help Leon but he rebuffs her. Grace then delivers the quote, insisting as she needs to see this through.

Geek wisdom: When you are given the opportunity to do something, you must be willing to take the risk. You never know if it might be the best choice to just go for it. Additionally, if you don’t, you just might wonder for the rest of your life if you should have done it. Taking the plunge might be scary but it just might be the best choice you ever made.
