“Asgard is not a place. Never was. This could be Asgard. Asgard is where our people stand.”

From: Thor: Ragnarok

Genre: Movies

Who said it?: Odin

The story behind the quote: This week’s quote come from the third Thor film from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film follows Thor as he has to escape the planet of Sakaar in order to return home to Asgard, which is about to be taken over and ruled over by Hela, the Goddess of Death.

The quote comes close to the climax of the movie. Near death, Thor (played by Chris Hemsworth) has a vision of his father, Odin (played by Anthony Hopkins). Thor feels powerless as Hela destroyed his hammer and Hela has already taken over Asgard. This is when Odin delivers the quote.

Geek wisdom: Home isn’t necessary the place you live in or the place you lay your head to sleep. Home is wherever you make it to be. Home is where your family is, no matter where you are.

Most of my childhood (and adult life) was spent doing a lot of geeky stuff: watching TV, playing video games and going to the movies. To some, it may have been a waste of time. Well, to me, it has made me what I am today... a geeky adult. I actually write for a couple of blogs, namely: geekwisdom.wordpress.com 3rdworldgeeks.com gamemoir.com Please check them out!
