The story behind the quote: This week’s quote comes the Square Enix game, Final Fantasy VII Remake. As the name suggests, the game is an enhanced version of the original 1997 game that was released on the PlayStation. However, this isn’t an exact copy of the original as it eventually diverges from the plot. The game still follows Cloud Strife, a mercenary who gets wrapped up in a plot that will destroy the planet. In the end, however, the timeline is ripped apart, thanks to the machinations of Sephiroth, the main villain of Final Fantasy VII, both the original and the Remake.
The quote comes near the end of the game. Cloud encounters Sephiroth at “the edge of creation.” Cloud is still discombobulated as the timeline change is also affecting him. Sephiroth helps Cloud up, delivers the quote and asks him to join him.
